This is in so many ways just how love happens.

It begins tentatively, slowly,

Just a pencil outline, a friendship changing.

And then grows stronger and bolder,

Euphoria, excitement and commitment.  

Then the paraphernalia is erased off,

Agreements to disagree, insecurities dismissed and ideas accepted.

And finally that allows for a true and complete love,

I will be there to try and fail your children as Mallus :P 

I will be there to read to them and take them out to eat (‘cuz you’ll be all “Amma’s food is the best!”) 

I will be there to take care of them when you need some romantic time off :)

I will be there to buy awesome baby clothes and make them learn to love crazy socks!

I will be there to show them that some people can’t carry tune and it’s okay if by some remote chance, the gene passed them by :P

I will be there to give them the cool ‘cousins’ to hang out with.

I will be there being the cool person they can talk to when they’re scared of their bossy-boots mom :P

I will be there to laugh with, play with, talk to, mentor and be there for your children :)

And I will love them the way a mother does,

And I will love their mother the way us best friends do :)

Dear Megha Harish,

I can’t wait to a mother, only because of you now.

I want to be your children’s mad, loving, cooking, romantic, singing doctor aunt. :)

I’ll take be there for them the way I’ll be there for you. 

I’ll be their nanny when you’re tired of the constant crying and the diaper changing and the screaming and everything else.

I will be there to sing them to sleep and kiss them goodnight.

I will be there to make them as sane and proper as possible, because hey, why do people call me Mom already, eh? ;)

But I will also be their insane aunt who’ll propel them towards falling in love from the start and give them the LOVE talk with you :)

I’ll cook them OZZM food when they’re tired of eating out because of their mother’s even ozzmer cooking abilities. :P

We’ll go on holidays, just you, me and our kids. 

And my home will be their home, and you can always drop them and go wherever you want, especially when you get tired of raising your kids in the Rashtrapati Bhavan ;)

Our children will sleepover more than anyone has ever before. 

They’ll be the best things that’s ever been ours.
